In this months Healthy Soil project #2, I’m showing you my simple ways to sort drainage and compaction. These gotta be sorted first because if they aren’t, brilliant soil health never quite lands. Soil needs to be in flow – air, gas, water, roots and biology need to freely move through.
Not all of you will have poor drainage or compaction – if you aren’t sure you can find out in the Healthy Soil Project #1 by doing the test. (How did it go by the way? I’d love to hear the cool things you learned about your soil.)
It’s so clarifying when you connect to what’s happening below ground – that’s where all the answers to plant health are. And even though you may have more questions than answers at this stage – sit with those questions, don’t rush to answer them. Hold steady, and as we work through the Healthy Soil Project you’ll gather the tools you need and the answers will come. Start with a measure (your DIY soil test) and build from there.
