September In The Raspberry Patch

Raspberry canes springIf you haven’t already pruned your raspberries then move it to the top of your priority list! Here are my summer fruiters – pruned, tied and ready to get their grow on. If you need help, here’s my How To Prune Raspberries post.

September Berry Care

  • Weed beneath your berries – a good job for your chooks
  • Spread a fine layer of compost
  • Top with a woodsy mulch
  • Tie floricanes (second year canes) to the frame to stop them falling over under weight of fruit, for good airflow (nothing worse than mouldy raspberries) and to elevate raspberry picking to new heights – so pleasant to be scratch free!
