My favourite workshop – the workshop that really gets your food gardening humming, that changes your food gardening life! – is coming to Tauranga in January. I’m very excited to be teaching from the Crafty Gatherer homestead (home of the broadfork).

Everything you need to grow an abundant vegie patch!

You’ll learn

Soil Health: What good soil looks like, my easy peasy compost recipe, making and using liquid feed; how to grow and use greencrops; simple ways to recycle food scraps; aerating your soils (and why it is so important); how to turn over and prepare garden beds

Crop Rotation: Rotating your crops prevents pest and disease and keeps your soils balanced. It’s important no matter how small your plot is, and is not as hard as you think.

Design: Good harvests begin with good design. Choose the best site for your vegie patch; cunning ways to manage weeds; integrated pest management (natures way); shelter and the best beginning for your vegie beds.

We’ll fill your tummys with lots of yummy goodness – morning tea and lunch provided.
