How To Prune Fruit Trees

June 17 @ 9:30 am - 1:00 pm

Harolds Red

Good pruning = good fruiting! Good pruning means feet on the ground, no more ladders!

Though the best (and simplest) time to make this happen is when trees are young – wild and woolly trees can be tamed too.

I’ll demo a mix of pipfruit – a young apple in training, an established apple and a free standing pear. We’ll check out the espalier Nashi’s and two year old peaches. We’ll chat (if there’s time we’ll prune) a mature plum as well.

Take home my pruning notes, and enjoy a homemade morning tea and cup of coffee.

Wear your gumboots.

Because pruning can only happen on a dry day, we’ll have to be flexible! Postponement date is Saturday 1st July.
